MEMBER OF DISTINCTION AWARD
RECOGNITION OF EXCELLENCEIn the past, the Porsche Club South Africa Central being a motor club has awarded prizes to members who excelled on the track. Over time and with the addition of the service plans to new Porches, the demographics of the club evolved from predominantly racing enthusiasts to more of a social club. The result is that the traditional areas of recognition fell short in addressing these needs.
The annual Porsche Club Year-End function provides the Porsche Club Committee with the opportunity and privilege to recognize members of the club for involvement in exceptional initiatives. This year marks the 60th Birthday celebration of the Porsche Club. It provides us with the ideal opportunity to acknowledge those remarkable Porsche Club individuals via the institution of “The Member of Distinction” programme with two new categories of prizes. These categories are:
1. The member of distinction award. The award recognizes exceptional Porsche Club members for their immeasurable dedication and contributions to enhancing the image of the Porsche club, its members and the Porsche Brand.
2. Inspirational Achievement Award. The award recognizes exceptional Porsche Club members for their inspiring achievements (non-Porsche related) within their community at large.

Club Structure & Heritage
The Porsche Club of South Africa is the "Umbrella" Club under which four regional clubs operate namely, Porsche Club Central (Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West & Free State), Porsche Club Cape (Western & Northern Cape), Porsche Club Eastern Cape and Porsche Club Kwa-Zulu Natal. The Porsche Club of South Africa celebrated its 65th year of existence in 2025, making it one of the oldest marque car clubs in the country.

Events, Activities & Social Calendar
The calendar is made up of competition and socially orientated events. The Time Trial series is for members who would like to explore the handling of their road cars in a safe and controlled environment. Driver Training sessions are held throughout the year to enable members to familiarise themselves with what their cars are capable of and to improve their driving skills. The Regional Annual Concours, which is of an incredibly high standard and has some of the best examples of the Porsche marque on display is an annual highlight where members delight in showcasing their beautiful cars in the various categories. We also have various Events of Interest, which include informative “Noggins” where members are informed of technical information in a specific field, e.g. a talk on the make-up of the oil we put in our cars, the Tyres we drive on, how a front running Dakar car is designed, built and managed, as well as events like “Cars in The Park”, “Rhino Day at Rietvlei Farm” and the “BMW Car Club Time Trials” where members can participate in their private capacity. The Social Side is made up of breakfast runs, week-ends away, picnics as well as the Year End Celebration Function where members can relax in a social atmosphere and get to know each other. The Porsche Club Parade is a biannual event rotated between the regions. It consists of competitive driving events and well as a full social itinerary. This culminates with a black tie Dinner / Dance / Prize Giving.
Events, Activities & Social Calendar
The regions use social media and newsletters to communicate with members notifying them of upcoming events and then doing report-backs on events held. An annual magazine is produced which consists of articles and images of the regional events as well as subject matter of interest to members.
